What is AbsTrac?
AbsTrac is a web-based, automated absenteeism tracking system which was developed in conjunction with IndexBlue (software developer) throughout the fall of 2004. AbsTrac collects data from selected school districts and displays the absenteeism information in three formats. These formats include geospatial, normalized chart/bar graphs, and spreadsheets. The system development and initiation was solely funded by the Franklin County Board of Health’s local Public Health Infrastructure Grant monies.
Realizing that diseases and disasters do not follow political boundaries, the Franklin County Board of Health designed the system to include all counties of the Central Ohio Homeland Security Region. This enables each local health jurisdiction in the Central Region to quickly recruit and activate school districts.
